It's an "EVEN YEAR CHRISTMAS!"

I have always loved the Christmas season, and I have nothing against Christmas '07, and '09, but now that we are Empty Nesters and don't get to see our far away extended family as much as we would like to, the "even years" have become especially wonderful. These are the years when ALL our family gathers together for fun and memory-making! This year, all 29 1/2 of us will be meeting in Eden, Utah, in the beautiful home we found on VRBO, to spend five fantastic, fun-filled days together. The Palenskes have already flown in from Alaska, the Chans have driven from Washington, and the Broekmans have made their way from Arizona to Joey's house in Utah. The Abneys and we will join them all on Tuesday. Then let the Wild Rumpus begin!!! We have anticipated this since the last "Even Year Christmas" two years ago. Here are some pictures of the last few times we have met up.  My heart is grateful for this chance to have our precious family together once again.  I will post pictures of Christmas '10 soon.

Washington and Arizona cousins.

Brady and Dave.

Avery came all the way from Alaska

Boy cousins--so much fun together.

Snow fun in Heber.

Christmas '06 in Heber, Utah. We have grown by 5 this year.

The gathering at Joey's before our exodus northward.

Nothing could make a Gramy happier than this.

Do you just love the shepherd's staffs? Pool cue sticks! And notice the Nativity Chicken.

AZ Abney's enjoying some sledding

A precious Nativity

Jack Frost

The awesome house we found at Bear Lake in '08.

We made these nativities in teams. I think this was the winner.

Can't have an Emig gathering without some serious Ticket to Ride, or "Trains," as we call it!

Grace and Holland with Gramy on a sleepy Christmas morn.

Dr. Chan made an excellent donkey to carry Mary.

Lots of snow angels! This might be Brady.

Oh Lori. I's so jealous. This looks like the most wonderful Christmas one could ever imagine. We're definately going to get the names of some of these places you've stayed and try a big family vacation there when we get home. Have a great time. How could you not? Merry Christmas

Can't wait to hear about your "Christmas vacation" this year. I'm sure it was wild and wonderful. Looking forward to pictures and stories of this year's outing.
